ABOUT US

F.O.C.C.A.S.  represents the Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter, a  non-profit organization. Our 501(c)3 number is pending.

F.O.C.C.A.S. was formed in February 2004, in order to maintain a safe & humane county animal shelter, increase adoptions, implement humane education for children & adults plus start a spay/neuter program for the shelter.  Colusa County is a small rural community of approximately 22,000 people located in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California.

We do not have a shelter of our own. Volunteers tackle projects without county, state or federal funding. We rely solely on surplus & used equipment from larger shelters under going renovations and from generous, caring people who donate funds to help the animals in our county.

F.O.C.C.A.S. assists the District Attorney's office with the rescue and care of large animals upon request.
